And I thought Summer Camp was over. Bonus event with Divine Dry Embossing, around the campfire!
Dry embossing is a great technique and the lesson also had some great pointers. I used the MFT Flying Butterflies die on heavy white card stock. I then die cut 6 of the butterflies and did a rainbow color scheme. The "thanks" is the MFT Emmitt Alphabet letters, just love them!
I now have all 6 badges and I am proud to display them.
Thanks for visiting.

MY FAVORITE THINGS SUMMER CAMP - DAY 5 GLITZY GLITTER
Hard to believe, 5 days are done. Day 5 was called Glitzy Glitter.
I love the look of glitter, but being a neat freak, it sometimes get messy. I used the MFT Sunflower die and cut the petals. When I tried to cut the center, which has 200 small holes, the glitter fell apart, so I cheated a bit. I took a piece of silver glitter card stock and colored it brown with a copic marker and then the center cut perfectly. The word "friend" comes from MFT Blueprints 8. Clean and simple, but boy does it sparkle!
After cleaning up after this little beauty, I was anxious to display the badge. Thank you for visiting.

MY FAVORITE THINGS SUMMER CAMP - DAY FOUR SENSATIONAL SLIDERS
For Day Four, a real challenge for me, a slider card. I am really proud to display this badge.
After giving this lots of thought, I decided to make a waterfall card.
I thought it might be easier, but after several hours of planning, maybe not.
When the slider is pulled down, you see the stick.
Sometimes the things at camp are tough, this was for me! There is always tomorrow.

MY FAVORITE THINGS SUMMER CAMP - DAY THREE SPECTACULAR SHAKERS
Day three, another badge in Summer Camp at My Favorite Things.
Shaker cards. Love to get them, hate to make them! But if you do something enough, you catch on. Lots of great tips in today's lesson. I cut the MFT Layer Champagne glass die into the black paper. The two glasses are one shaker. I cut the foam in a square hole to accommodate both glasses. This allows the glasses to be close to each other and when you shake it, one glass can be pretty empty or full, however you imagine it! I filled them with just gold beads which look like champagne bubbles. I cut the stems from silver paper and inlaid into the opening. Cheers and I was all done!
My Favorite Things has come out with plastic shaker pouches which are amazing. It makes these cards a breeze to make. Maybe someday they will have some image shapes in addition to the square, round and heart shapes.
Thank you for visiting.
MY FAVORITE THINGS SUMMER CAMP - DAY TWO REMARKABLE RESIST
Here is my badge from Day Two of My Favorite Things Summer Camp.
The challenge was to create a resist background using embossing ink. I stamped the MFT Pin Stripes background stamp on water color paper using white embossing powder. Since I just received my Distress Oxide Inks, I decided to give them a try. So much fun. I dropped the ink, Broken China and Cracked Pistachio in by mixing it with water and drying in between the layers. My first attempt had been to use the Cheesecloth background stamp, but the pattern was too fine. But we never throw anything away, so I ended up cutting the tie from that paper using MFT Suit and Tie die.
I blended those same two inks on a strip of paper to cut out the letters using the MFT Emmit Alphabet. Very versatile alphabet set since they are narrow and tall and fit just about anywhere. These oxide inks blend so easily! I then stamped Happy Birthday from the MFT Stay Tuned stamp set in the Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink to match the tie.
I have done this method many times and I always like the outcome. I like the shine from the embossing in contrast with the inking.

MY FAVORITE THINGS SUMMER CAMP - DAY ONE WONDERFUL WATERCOLOR
Day one of Summer Camp with My Favorite Things. This is my third year and I am looking forward to learning new techniques.
The assignment was to create a water colored background. I started with Bristol smooth watercolor paper and added Zig Clean Color Markers in a rainbow color palette. These markers blend so easily on this paper, you can hardly go wrong! My favorite part is the color does not go to the edge and the watery areas. There are never two alike! Splattering some black ink was the challenge for me. Hard to control, but I think they all landed where I wanted them. I used the MFT stamp and die set called Stay Tuned (I don't think it is available anymore). I have discovered some glitter paper that is amazing since NONE of the glitter comes off and in the light, it sparkles! I used that for the frame around the TV. I embossed the TV screen with some silver sparkle embossing powder.
The card is clean and simple, but hard to say with that background being so colorful!
Thank you for visiting and see you tomorrow.

PAPER SMOOCHES JUNE 2017 MONTHLY CHALLENGE - MEN
I love the logo for this months challenge for Paper Smooches called Men so it inspired me to come up with a card.
I started with Bristol smooth card stock. I took a cloud border die and made a stencil and turned it upside down to make the waves. I used Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress inks. I then put some Squeezed Lemonade on the old sun ray stencil I have had for years. I used the Paper Smooches My Guy stamp set. I blended some ink on the fish, fussy cut it and covered it with 3 layers of clear embossing. With each layer, it is amazing how smooth and shiny the fish became! I stamped the fishing pole and also clear embossed it. I attached a string from the rod to the fish. The letters come from my two favorite alphabet die sets. "Size" is the Paper Smooches Sassy Letters and the word "matters" comes from Alphawhimsy. The best part of these alphabets, the letters actually look better if they are NOT straight! Some clear embellishments that look like water droplets and a bit of Stickles on the sun and I was done. I saw this sentiment on a man's tee shirt and thought it would make a funny card!
You have to visit the Paper Smooches store. I guarantee you will find something you have to have. Kim does an amazing job, always quick shipping!
